Welcome to the Le Timbre et la Lettre shop. Follow these steps to find an item, place your order and choose your payment and delivery options.
1. Find and examine an item
The shop menu opens an overview of our collections. You can then browse Stamps, Postcards, Letters and Documents, or choose All articles to explore the catalogue.
To browse items from a country, use the country and territory selector on collection pages.
To find a keyword, theme or Delcampe reference, use the shop-wide search bar just below it. This searches all items, across all categories and countries. The search magnifying glass is also available in the header.
Open an item page to see the photographs, price and available information under “Item details”. Click on the photograph to take a closer look. The condition, year and catalogue reference are shown where this information is available.
Use “A question about this item?” or contact us with the title and reference shown on the item page. This helps us identify the right item when we reply.
2. Prepare your order
- On the item page, click Add to cart.
- Continue browsing if you would like to include several items in the same order.
- Open the cart at the top of the shop and check the items, quantities and prices.
- Proceed to checkout, then carefully enter your email address and delivery address.
- Choose your shipping method and payment method. Check the total amount, including postage, before confirming.
The payment methods offered may vary depending on your country and device. If an express checkout button is shown, you can also use the standard cart checkout to see the other options.
3. Choose how to pay
Payment cards, PayPal and express checkout
The shop accepts Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Cartes Bancaires, as well as PayPal. Shop Pay and Apple Pay may also be offered where available for your device and circumstances.
Other options may appear at checkout, including Klarna if your order is eligible. Read the terms displayed by the payment provider before choosing this option.
Bank transfer
Select Virement bancaire (bank transfer) when placing your order. The bank details and instructions are displayed after you confirm it. Transfer the full amount and enter your order number as the payment reference.
Your order is dispatched after the funds have been received. Confirming the order does not make the bank transfer for you.
Cheque
Select Paiement par chèque (payment by cheque). Make your cheque payable to Le Timbre et la Lettre and send it to:

Include your order number so that we can match the payment to your order. Your order will be dispatched after the cheque has been received and cleared.
Your order may be recorded while payment is still pending. Follow the instructions you receive and contact us if you have any difficulty.
4. Understand postage costs and dispatch times
Postage costs depend on the destination, shipping method and order value. These are the rates currently set up in the shop.

Free postage applies to the shipping method whose threshold your order reaches. For example, with €25 of items delivered in France, standard letter postage is free; a tracked letter remains €2.50 and registered postage €8.50. The postage shown at checkout takes account of your order and the address you enter.
A standard letter does not include tracking. Choose a tracked service if you would like to follow its progress.
When will my order be sent?
The stated timescale is dispatch within 14 days after payment. For a cheque or bank transfer, dispatch takes place after payment has been received and, for a cheque, after it has cleared.
This timescale covers dispatch: postal transit time is additional and depends in particular on the destination. It is therefore not a guarantee of delivery within 14 days.
When will my order arrive?
Including preparation and postal transit, the maximum delivery period is 30 calendar days for France, 45 days for other European destinations and 60 days for other available destinations, from receipt of payment. For bank transfers and cheques, the period starts when cleared funds are received.
Delivery to Great Britain is temporarily suspended and Northern Ireland is not served. The Republic of Ireland remains available. See our shipping policy and terms and conditions of sale for the details and your rights in the event of delay.
