Selling a stamp collection

Do you wish to sell a collection built up over time, family albums, or rediscovered stamps? We help you understand what you have before making any decisions, with a free and confidential initial assessment.

A carefully prepared sale, at your own pace

01 · Present your collection

Describe the countries, periods, and number of albums. Include overall views, a few representative pages, and any certificates.

02 · Understand its value

We examine the stamps, letters, and sets to identify elements that deserve special attention. A photograph allows for an initial assessment; important pieces may require direct examination.

03 · Freely choose the next step

If the collection aligns with our business, a purchase offer can be considered. Its terms will be explained to you, and you remain free to make your decision, with no obligation to sell.

From family albums to specialized sets

We study stamps from France and worldwide, former colonies, unused and used stamps, booklets, blocks, old letters, covers, and philatelic archives.

A small, specialized selection can be more valuable than a large number of incomplete albums. We prioritize examining the entire collection before suggesting a method for selling it.

What influences value

The value of a collection depends on the interest of the pieces, their quality, and demand. The number of albums or their age is not enough to establish an estimate.

  • Rarity of the issue, varieties, and specialization of the set.
  • Condition, freshness, centering, gum, hinges, and defects.
  • Authenticity of overprints and cancellations.
  • Certificates, signatures, annotations, and provenance.
  • Interest of letters, their franking, and their postal history.

Before the appointment: preserve the essentials

Keep the existing classification, certificates, and annotations. Do not peel stamps from their letters, do not clean pieces, and do not discard a document because it seems ordinary to you.

Photograph a few overall views and representative pages, then clear close-ups. An initial exchange will determine if a direct examination is necessary.

Your questions before selling

Is the first assessment free?

Yes, the first assessment and preliminary study are free. The conditions for any specific intervention are specified in advance.

Do I need to bring all my albums?

Start with photographs. We will indicate which sets and documents are useful for the appointment.

Do you directly buy collections?

Yes, when their content matches our activity. A proposal does not entail any obligation to sell.

Should I sell stamps one by one?

Not systematically. We study the coherence of the collection, the interest of the pieces, and the selling constraints before advising you.
